Promptly Admit It

Our experience shows that apologizing can provide the serenity we need to cope with guilt.  In the past we either didn’t care or were unaware of the harm we caused others. Now that our eyes are open a little wider we can see the consequences of our missteps. Now we feel guilt and it hurts!
Fortunately, we have options. We can use our guilt to motivate us to apologize. It is not fun, but the sooner we do it, the sooner we will feel better.
Afterwards, we are serene and proud of ourselves. We may feel better about ourselves than before we made the mistake!

Let us know how you cope with guilt by commenting on this blog, twitter, or facebook.
